Yep, I Get It… Perimenopause Symptoms Really Suck (But Here’s What Helps)

Yep, I get it. It really sucks having hot flashes hit out of nowhere. Or lying awake at 2am staring at the ceiling while your mind races. Or snapping at your kids, partner, or coworker even though you don’t want to… it just feels like your body is running the show and you’re along for the ride.
Perimenopause has a way of making even the strongest, most capable women feel like strangers in their own skin. And if that’s you right now? You’re not alone, sis.
There’s no sugarcoating it. The bloating, the night sweats, the mood swings, the brain fog—it’s not just “a little inconvenient.” It can make daily life feel like walking around in a body that no longer listens to you. And what’s worse? Most of us weren’t warned about this season of life. Nobody told us it would feel like this.
And when you go to your doctor? Nine times out of ten you hear, “Well, that’s just menopause.” Like you should just grin and bear it.
Nope. Not here.
Yes, the symptoms are real. Yes, they suck. But you’re not powerless. The smallest shifts can start to ease the pressure and bring you back home to yourself.
For me, that’s looked like:
✨ Choosing movement that calms my nervous system instead of stressing it out.
✨ Eating in a way that stabilizes my energy instead of riding the blood sugar rollercoaster.
✨ Actually resting—without guilt—because my body needs recovery, not punishment.
And honestly? Giving myself permission to stop pretending I can “push through” everything.
Here’s the reminder I wish someone had given me: you don’t have to minimize what you’re going through. You don’t have to compare yourself to how you “used to be.” You don’t have to prove anything to anyone.
You’re allowed to admit this sucks. AND you’re allowed to get support, make changes, and feel better. Both can be true.
If you’re nodding along like, “Yep, that’s me,” I want you to know—there’s another way. You don’t have to do this alone, and you don’t have to settle for feeling like crap.
✨ Come join me for one of my yoga classes or workshops. I’ll teach you practices that support your hormones, calm your mind, and help you reclaim your energy—even in the middle of this messy, unpredictable season.
Because yes, perimenopause sucks. But you don’t have to suffer through it.
