Purpose: Relax, restore energy, calm the mind.
Theory:
– Ayurveda: Rest to conserve your ‘ojas’ (life force) and allow your constitution to rebalance.
– TCM: Conserve your ‘chi’ (life force).
– Psychology: Give yourself a meno-PAUSE. Rest in the winter stage of life, conserve your energy, reflect on your life so far and prioritize where you want to direct your energy.
– Biology: Reduce stress to calm the nervous system and support the endocrine system to produce oestrone. Replenish your energy that is depleted in menopause. Switch off your fight or flight mode so that you can sleep well.
What you’ll need:
Yoga mat. For extra comfort, place a blanket on top of your mat.
Optional pillow or folded blanket to support your head and neck during relaxation.
No distractions. Set a timer with a calming sound (no loud alarms!). Let others know you need 5 minutes of quiet time. Taking care of yourself is a priority – a calmer you means everyone benefits!
A peaceful environment. Enhance your practice with calming soundscapes like gentle ocean waves or a slow metronome to guide your breath.
